Paraview IAM Installation Guide for AWS

Prerequisites

• AWS account with administrative privileges
• Default VPC or a VPC with a Public Subnet (able to auto assign public IP)
• Pre-defined SSH key pair
• Neccesary region access and resources (e.g. EC2, Lambda)

Step 1: Infrastructure Check

1. Launch AWS console and make sure in your region, there is at least one Default VPC or user defined VPC with IGW and Public subnet created with Auto Assign IP enabled
2. Check your EC2 manual, under Key Pair. Make sure there is at least one user-defined SSH key Pair is ready. Make sure you are holding the privated key. You will be request it while SSH into the EC2 instance

Step 2: Installation thru AWS Marketplace

1. Please open your Browser, we recommend Chrome and go to AWS Marketplace
2. Search Paraview, you will see there are few software. Please click Paraview IAM for Workforce and continue
3. Pickup your installation region and click subscription and agree the agreement
4. Key in a Stack Name: e.g. Paraview IAM Evaluation
5. Pickup your EC2 instance type. we recommand m5.xlarge. In some regions some types may or may not available. please pickup the right one.
6. Pickup your SSH key pair name
7. Key in your SSH Cidr. This is a CIDR which allow you SSH into the EC2 instance from. You may key your IP e.g. a.b.c.d/32 or 0.0.0.0/0 from anywhere.
8. pickup your subnet
9. pickup your vpc
10. Click Next
11. Check the "I acknowledge that AWS CloudFormation might create IAM resources with custom names." option. And click Next
12. Click Submit. That is all
13. This installation will trigger a Cloudformation Stack creation, and an IAM Role and Policy creation, which will helping to create a Lambda function for get the exsiting VPC CIDR.
14. Please be patient. The installation process will be around 30 mins
15. Please check the Output column for your application credentials.
